Mr. Ronald Clinton, Sr.
Mr. Ronald Clinton Sr., 57, of 5153 Sunrise Terrace went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2006. He was born Aug. 20, 1948, in Durham to Elizabeth and the late Ernest Clinton. He was a graduate of Hillside High School in Durham and N.C. A&T State University, where he majored in business administration and minored in transportation. Ronald served two tours of duty in the Vietnam War and was a retired Master Sergeant in the U.S. Army Reserve and a member of VFW Post 9010. He retired from the Winston-Salem Transit Authority after 21 years of service. He was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church, where he faithfully taught Sunday school and served on the deacon and trustee committees. Ronald leaves to cherish many fond memories his wife, Mildred; four children, Ronald Jr., Michelle, April and Charlotte; mother Elizabeth; seven brothers and three sisters, Charles, Richard, Ernestine, Elizabeth (Michael), Michael (Evangula), Eric (Camilla), Gregory (Cynthia), Bryant (Lillian), David (Erica) and Tracy (Paul); brother-in-law Raeford McKinley (Barbara); sisters-in-law Mary McKinley, Nancy McCormack and Clara Clinton; an aunt, Dorothy Everett; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 17, at Shiloh Baptist Church, with the Rev. Dr. Paul A. Lowe Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in Salisbury National Cemetery. The family visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 16, 2006 at Russell Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations may be made to Sunday School Ministries of Shiloh Baptist Church on behalf of Ronald Clinton Sr., Shiloh Baptist Church, 916 E. 12th St. at Highland Ave., Winston-Salem, NC 27101.
