Jasmine Chemel Caldwell
Jasmine Chemel Caldwell was born on Feb. 15, 1990, and departed this life unexpectedly on Sunday, March 19, 2006. She was the first born of Pamela Caldwell and Undrae Hayes. Jasmine was an "A" student at Mount Tabor High School where she was actively involved in the Junior Honor Society, Key Club, Ebony Society, Gospel Choir, Black Achievers and Crosby Scholars. She was a member of Greater Cleveland Avenue Christian Church, where she was devoted and outspoken in the youth ministry. She was a dedicated member of the Virtuous Stepper, Ray Choir and Daughters of Purpose Cheerleading Squad. Jasmine would always be seen with her beautiful smile and a flower in her hair. Jasmine leaves to continue her legacy and ordained destiny her mother and father; a brother, Andre'; grandparents Elder Larry and Evangelist Carolyn Gordon, Robert and Beatrice Baldwin and the Rev. Johnny and Rebecca Hayes; maternal great-grandmother Eddie Mae Caldwell; aunts Sharon Caldwell Johnson, Doris Green, Cassaundra Hayes Rice, Karen (John) Roberts, Claudette Goodwin, Audrey Goodwin Dobson, Cynthia (Eric) Brown, Shelia Campbell, Dewanna Hayes-Tucker and Paula Hayes; uncles Jonne' (Rosa) Hayes, Michael (Paula) Hayes, Dr. Anthony (Melanie) Hayes, George Hayes, Jimmy "Goody" Goodwin, Melvin Campbell Jr., James Gilliand and the Rev. James Noble; godparents Karla Cook, George (Sandra) Sherard and Tony (Karen) Dendy; godsiblings Shequan Cook, Jasmine and Cammie Thomas and Kevan Mitchell; devoted friend Kris Pearson; devoted cousins, Anthony "Duck" Dobson and Jelisa Myers; best friends Michelle "Nikki" Myers and Letitia Dobson; and a loving church family and friends. "Something like a Diva" or "Dat Tre4 QT." Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 25, at Greater Cleveland Avenue Christian Church, with Bishop Sheldon McCarter officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be from noon to 12:45 p.m. Saturday, March 25, at the church. A scholarship fund has been established in Jasmine's name.
