Mr. William Brown
On Friday, April 21, 2006 the Lord called home one of his most precious angels after a brief illness. Mr. William Brown, affectionately known to family members and friends as “Po Brown,” was born October 28, 1928 to Luther and Frances Brown. He was retired from RJR Tobacco Company after 30 years of service. He was an active member of Union Baptist Church where he participated in the Senior Choir. Mr. Brown was also known as a weekend barber and enjoyed playing golf in his spare time. He was preceded in death by his parents; four siblings, Ellen Walls, Classie Singleton, Charlie Brown and James Brown. He leaves to cherish his memories four children, Brenda Moore, Norma Jean Wolfe, Donald Brown, and William Brown, Jr. all of Winston-Salem, NC; a daughter, Yvonne Brown Bullock of Seattle, Washington; a devoted brother, Robert L. Brown of Winston-Salem, NC; 11 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, three great, great-grandchildren; a loyal and devoted friend, Dianna B. Price; and two special caregivers, Mary Ann Sowell and Debra Tilman; and a host of nieces, nephews cousins, and friends. Funeral services will b held at 1 pm Friday, April 28, 2006 at Union Baptist Church with the Reverend Dr. Sir Walter Mack. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Family visitation will be held from Noon until 1 pm Friday at the church.
