  Mrs. Mildred McRae Brown 

On Monday, Sept. 4, 2006, Mrs. Mildred McCrae Brown unexpectedly went home to be with the Lord. God plucked a beautiful flower. Mrs. Mildred McRae Brown was born on May 25, 1928, in Scotland County, S.C. Mrs. Brown was united in holy matrimony to Mr. Jimmell L. Brown, who was called from earth to Heaven's reward on Jan. 4, 2005. Mrs. Brown confessed her life to Christ at an early age. She was a member of Macedonia TVPH Church of God Inc., which she attended until her health failed. Mrs. Brown retired from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co. Left to cherish memories of her are four children, George McCrae, Ada (Craig) Moton and Larry (Shirley) Brown, all of Winston-Salem, and James (Valerie) Brown of Fayetteville, Ga.; a sister, Mrs. Julia (Thomas) McCloud of Winston-Salem; a brother, John Reader; a loving sister-in-law, Jessie Mason of Winston-Salem; seven grandchildren, Darren, Elizabeth, Michelle, Craig, Larry, Donovan and Brian; 12 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday, Sept. 11, in the chapel of Russell Funeral Home, with Minister Yvonne Dawkins officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be from 12:30 to 1 p.m. Monday, Sept. 11, at the funeral home. The family will leave from the home of Mrs. Elizabeth Brown Rucker, granddaughter, at 1455 Bromwich Circle in Winston-Salem.
