  Mrs. Earline Garvin Benjamin 

Mrs. Earline Garvin Benjamin of 824 Gray Ave. was born to Doc and Ollie Garvin in Orangeburg, SC on February 13, 1919. Mrs. Benjamin passed away on Saturday, February 25, 2006 at Forsyth Memorial Hospital.
Over 70 years ago, she moved to Winston-Salem, NC. She was married to the late Austin D. Benjamin for 49 years. Mrs. Benjamin was a member of Hanes Memorial CME Church for 60 years. At Hanes, she served on the Stewardess Board and Missionary Circle. She was a member of the Gray Avenue Good Neighbor Flower Club. Mrs. Benjamin was a loving and caring mother who had great affection for her family and friends.
Her parents, Doc and Ollie Garvin; a son, Christopher Benjamin; and two brothers, David Garvin and Horace William preceded her in death.
Mrs. Benjamin leaves to cherish fond memories to one son, Samuel (Myra) Benjamin, of Winston-Salem, NC; a daughter, Constance “Connie” (Larry) Tapp, of Burlington, NC; children she raised, Mark Williams of Detroit, MI, Michelle (Kenneth) Butler of Winston-Salem, NC and Michael Williams of the home; one special grandson, Keith (Sherry) Easter of Winston-Salem, NC; 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two great, great-grandchildren; a devoted first cousin, Joseph (Eva) Cherry of Detroit, MI; a special cousin, the Rev. Willie Mae (Leon) Carson of Winston-Salem, NC; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1 pm Saturday, March 4, 2006 at Hanes Memorial CME Church with the Rev. Rayfield Metcalf, Pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Noon until 1 pm Saturday at the church.
