Mr. Joseph Barr, Jr. 44, of 3210 Starlight Drive, Apartment H, passed away on Tuesday, September 5, 2006 at his residence unexpectedly. He was born on January 15, 1962 in Winston-Salem, NC, the son of Joseph Barr, Sr. and Barbara Coleman Barr.
He was a graduate of East Forsyth High School, Class of 1980. He was proud to attend New Direction Movement Cathedral Church. He would encourage his neighbors and friends to come to Church. He was known by many and loved be all.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Jasper Thomas Barr.
Joseph is survived by his parents, Joseph Barr, Sr. and Barbara Coleman Barr; one son, Joseph Barr, III; one granddaughter, Khaliya Barr; two brothers, Stan (Kelly) Barr, and Anthony (Kim) Barr; two sisters, Princella (Walt) Braxton and Penny (Charles) Simons; grandparents, Annie Coleman Carthon and Sally Barr; and a host of uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins and friends, and a devoted aunt a Pastor Essie C. McCullough.
Funeral services will be held at 1 pm Monday, September 11, 2006 at New Direction Movement Cathedral Church with Pastor Essie C. McCullough officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Family visitation will be held from Noon until 1 pm Monday at the church.
