Ms. Geneva Beatrice Allen, 68, of 621 Burton Street passed away Wednesday, September 27, 2006 at her residence following a period of illness. She was born in Elon College, NC on February 14, 1938, the daughter of Mable P. Allen and John M. Allen. At an early age, she moved to Winston-Salem, NC and was reared by her aunt and uncle, Emmaline Patrick and the late Herman G. Patrick. Geneva attended Atkins High School and graduated from Carver High School in the late 50’s. She retired from the Inn Keeper on Broad Street. She was faithful to the Church until her health failed.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister and devoted husband, David Walton, Jr.
She leaves to cherish her memories her very loving and devoted daughters, Sandra Allen of the home; her loving and devoted care-giver, Cheryl Simmons; an aunt, Emmaline Patrick; two sisters-in-law; one brother-in-law; a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 3 pm Wednesday, October 4, 2006 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel with Elder Mark Mack officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Family visitation will be held from 2 pm until 3 pm Wednesday at the church.
