Mrs. Lillie Ella Brown Witherspoon, 92, of Springwood
Care and a former resident of the Piney Grove Community was born in
Hartsville
,
SC
, to the late Anderson and Lucy Brown. She departed this life Wednesday
morning October 12, 2005.
Mrs.
Witherspoon was an active member of
Piney
Grove
Baptist
Church
where she was a member of the Spiritual Choir and the Senior Usher Board
until her health declined. She was a former employee of R. J .Reynolds
Tobacco Company.
Her
husband Andrew Witherspoon, whom she dearly loved, her son Earl
Witherspoon Sr., 2 sisters and 5 brothers, all preceded her in death.
She
leaves to cherish her memory, her son, Theodore Roosevelt Witherspoon of
Elm Hurst, New York; a loving daughter-in-law, Thressa Correll
Witherspoon of Winston-Salem; a devoted granddaughter, Linda W. Little
of Winston-Salem, NC; two grandsons, Earl Witherspoon, Jr. of
Winston-Salem, NC and Barry Love of New Jersey; two great-grandchildren,
Teramus Little and Christina Little, both of Winston-Salem, NC; a
devoted nephew, Thomas Witherspoon of Winston-Salem, NC, two local
devoted friends, Mary Fowler and Dorothy Gibson; a host of nieces,
nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday,
October 17, 2005 at
Piney
Grove
Baptist
Church
with Dr. James F. Linville, officiating. Interment will follow in
Evergreen
Cemetery
. Family visitation will be held from 12:30 p.m. until 1 p.m. Monday at
the church. The family may be contacted at the home of Thressa
Witherspoon, at
