Mr. Prince Hosanna Starks, Jr.

Mr. Prince Hosanna Starks, Jr. departed this earthly life on Monday, October 24, 2005 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born August 1, 1952 in Forsyth County to Mr. Prince Hosanna Starks, Sr. and Mrs. Mae Ellen Jefferson Starks.

He graduated from North Forsyth High School and attended A&T State University where he studied art. He loved listening to music and during his early years played in the Paisley Junior High School Band, participated in the Boy Scouts, and sang in the choirs at Hanes memorial CME Church. He was a quiet person who loved animals, especially his pet cat, Tiger. He was employed several years by the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools and worked over 20 years at the Central YMCA. He loved people and was a member of the Cherry Hill Community Club.

He was preceded in death by his father, and a nephew, David Alexander Nevels.

He leaves to cherish his memories to his devoted mother, Mae Ellen Jefferson Starks; his sisters, Wandalee Inez Starks Nevels and Winifred Wynne (Paul) Garrett of Durham, NC; a brother, Dr. Preston Henry (Wilma) Starks of Jacksonville, Fl.; four nieces, Adeia Michelle Nevels, Opal Wynne Garrett, Jasmine Inez Garrett, and Valerie Mae Starks; two nephews, Taylor Alexander Garrett and Phillip Henry Starks; a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, October 27, 2005 at First Baptist Church, Highland Avenue, with the Reverend Robert James Williams, Jr. officiating. Entombment will follow in Gardens of Memory, Old Walkertown Road. Family visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. Thursday at the church.
