Mrs. Nancy Davis Richardson, 85, departed this life on Wednesday, November 17, 2005. She was born on November 7, 1920 in Columbia, SC, the daughter of Dock and Pearl Bright Davis. She was a loving and dedicated mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.
Mrs. Richardson was a faithful member of the Bible Light Holiness Church of Ridgeway, SC. After moving to Winston-Salem, NC, she became a member of Mount Olive Holiness Apostolic Church. Foe many years, Mrs. Richardson was a domestic worker for the Bertha and Tsiantic families of Columbia, SC.
Mrs. Richardson was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Johns Richardson; two sisters, Frances Young and Julia Davis and one brother, Henry Davis.
Mrs. Richardson is survived by one daughter, Margaret (James) Boyd of Columbia, SC; two sons, Robert Davis and Bernard (Deletha) Richardson of Fort Worth, Texas; seven grandchildren, Tarra D. Richardson, Devin B. Richardson, Pierre Boyd, Shonna (Jefferson) Wagner, Prentice (Squita) Boyd, James R. Boyd, Jr. and Melonie Davis; six great grandchildren, Chazmine Lee, Tara Boyd, Jalen Boyd, DeAsia Boyd, Jaron Boyd and Jeremiah Boyd; three sisters, Mrs. Alberta Boyd of Hartford, CT, Mrs. Marie Dixon and Mrs. Elizabeth Griffin of Winston-Salem, NC (devoted caregivers); three brothers, Bishop Dock (Betty) Davis, Jr. of Winston-Salem, NC, Mr. Harrison Davis of Baltimore, MD and Mr. William Davis of Columbia, SC and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be held on this afternoon at 2:00 PM from the Mount Olive Holiness Apostolic Church with Elder Samuel Davis officiating. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be from 1:00 until 2:00 PM this afternoon at the Church. Her remains will be placed in the Church at 12:00 NOON. |
