Mr. Lonnie Lincoln "Pic" Price , Sr.

God saw that you were getting tired and a cure was not meant to be. So he put his arms around you and whispered come unto me. A golden heart stopped beating. God broke our heart to prove to us that he only takes the best.

Mr. Lonnie Lincoln “PIC” or “PICCOLO” Price, Sr., 77, the son on the late Charlie Lincoln and Ethel Bynum Price was born on August 1, 1928. Mr. Price entered his Father’s house peacefully on Saturday, November 12, 2005 at 8:10AM.
Lonnie was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Charlie Mae (Joe) McFadden.
He attended 14th Street Elementary School and graduated from Atkins High School. He continued his education at Winston-Salem Teachers College (WSSU) and received his BS in education. He taught in the WSFCS system for a short time.
Lonnie was a veteran of the United States Army. He was one of the first black men to be hired in a managerial position at Western Electric and retired from A T & T with 28 years of service. 
Lonnie was a former member of the James H. Young 670 Memorial Lodge until his failing health. 
Lonnie was a member of St. Stephens Missionary Baptist Church.
He leaves to mourn his devoted wife of 49 years, Verdell E. Price; seven children, Cassandra Epps (Al, Sr.) Capers, Deborah Epps Shivers, Ethel V. Price, Lonnie L. (Victoria) Price, Jr., Reginald L. (Joy) Price, Horace J. Price and Lonnie Martin; two brothers, James Rogers (Gert) Price, Sr. and Ernest (Daisy) Price; 22 grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. 
Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, November 15, 2005 at 1:00 PM from the Evergreen Cemetery. The family will assemble and leave from the residence, 2428 Caledonia Drive at 12:40 PM en route to the Evergreen Cemetery for the services. 
The family would like to give special thanks to Kate B. Reynolds Hospice of Forsyth County, Dr. John Card and his staff of the WS Health Care, Advanced Health Home Care, the 2nd floor staff at Forsyth Medical Center and the doctors and staff of the Digestive Health Specialist at Frontis Plaza.
