 Mrs. Marlene Lois Twitty Hawkins Penn

Mrs. Marlene Lois Twitty Hawkins Penn, 72, of 3045 Draper Court peacefully met her Lord on Tuesday, November 22, 2005 at Forsyth Medical Center after a very short illness. She was born in the city of Summit, NJ on April 15, 1933, the daughter of Robert Twitty and Ethel Blackmon Twitty. Her family later relocated to Winston-Salem, NC.
Marlene was currently working for Prime Flight Aviation Security Services. She retired from Wake Forest University.
Marlene was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Donald Hawkins; her aunt, Connie Witker; her sister, Joan Twitty and her adopted daughter, F. Selena Penn-Rice, whom she loved as her own. 
She is survived by her loving husband, R. Britt Penn, Sr.; two aunts, Delesain Blackmon (the Reverend Wilfred) Johnson and Evangelist Vivian Blackmon (Clifford) Wooding; nieces, Carletta James, Jennifer Twitty; cousins, Mr. and Mrs. Richard (Barbara) Johnson; her step-children, Victoria Penn-Jessup, Reverends Rockford B. and Katherine Penn, Jr., JoAn (Tommy) Russell, Randy (Cynthia) Penn, Cynthia Penn-Henderson, M. Sgt (retired) Darrell (Regina) Penn, the Reverend Robert (Jean) Brown, Brenda (Tommy) Pruitt; son-in-law, Glasco (DeVonne) Rice; granddaughter, Brittany J. Rice and special friends, Mr. and Mrs. Howard (Alice Marie) Thomas, Doris Bines, Virginia Brown, Wanda Davis; sisters-in-law, Mildred Joyce, Audrey Penn, Lolene Penn and Barbara East; and many cousin, friends and family members. 
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 26, 2005 at 12:00 NOON from the Chapel of the Russell Funeral Home with the Reverend Rockford B. Penn, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be from 11:00 AM until 12:00 NOON on Saturday at the funeral home.
