Dorothy "Dot" Hazelyn Jones Morgan

Mrs. Dorothy “Dot” Hazelyn Jones Morgan of 4501 Tise Avenue was born in Winston-Salem, N.C. May 26, 1922 to the late Lessie Jones Flynn and Robert White. She departed this life unexpectedly on Sunday, October 30, 2005 at the Forsyth Memorial Medical Center.
Mrs. Morgan attended the local public schools, graduating from Atkins High School and later North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, Greensboro, NC.
She united with the Shiloh Baptist Church at an early age. During her early years, Mrs. Morgan sung with the Camp Meeting Choir.
She relocated to New York and was employed as manager at Citi Corp Bank, retiring with 30 years of service. Upon retirement, she returned to Winston-Salem, NC and worked at the Brian Center, Pellcare Nursing Home, Independence Village and lastly at Wal-Mart as “A Greeter” until January 2005.
Mrs. Morgan was married to the late Clarence Morgan.
Loving memories of Mrs. Morgan will be cherished by a son, Anthony “Tony” Hilton (Chana P.) Bynoe of Madison, Mississippi; a “special friend,” Winona Meroney of the home; a sister, Rose M. “Rita” Jones; one granddaughter, Alisha J. Relaford of Winston-Salem, NC; five grandchildren Jarmel A. (Raquel) Jones , Darryl Green, Jr., and JaVonsa A. Graham of Winston-Salem, NC, Anthony H. and Chaun Michael Bynoe of Madison, Mississippi; devoted cousins, Fred (Lucy) Lindsey, Dwight Lindsey Powers of Winston-Salem, NC, Brenda Russell of Silver Springs, Maryland; god-daughter, Sherry Wigfall, a close family friend, Shirley J. Scott; several other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, November 4, 2005 at Shiloh Baptist Church with the Dr. Paul A. Lowe, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in Piedmont Memorial Gardens. Family visitation will be held from 2:30 p.m. until 3 p.m. Friday at the church.
