Mable Fulmore McClam

Mrs. Mable Fulmore McClam of #4 N. E. 30th Street left peacefully to be with God on Sunday, October 6, 2005 at Springwood Care Center of Forsyth where she was a patient. She was born on October 16, 1910 in Kingstree, SC to Rich and Hattie Fulmore. Most of her life was spent here in Winston-Salem, NC where she was a retiree of Forsyth Memorial Hospital and the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County School System. Mrs. Mable was a dedicated and loving member of Goler Metropolitan AME Zion Church where she was a member of the Missionary Group and the Gospel Choir until a decline in health. She was preceded in death by her husband and two sons.
Leaving to cherish her memory are daughters, Wilhelmenia Alford of Lake City, SC, Pearlie M. (Lester) Scipio of Geneva, NY, Jessie M. (William) Brown of Milwaukee, Wis., Dorothy Wilson, Geraldine (Andrew) Jackson, Lillie (Richard) Byrd and Joyce McClam all of Winston-Salem, NC; sons, Willie McClam of Winston-Salem, NC, Louis McClam, Jr. of New York, NY and James H. McClam of Augusta, Ga.; 39 grandchildren; 59 great grandchildren; sisters, Doshia Lee Cooper of New York and the Reverend Willie Mae Pompey (James) of Kingstree, SC; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, November 10, 2005 at Goler Metropolitan AME Zion Church with the Reverend Roy A. Swann, officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be from Noon until 1 p.m. Friday at the church. The family may be contacted at 3522 Fieldstone Drive.
