Mr.
Richard Henry Hyman, 74, of
3351 Linda Circle
, known to family and friends as "Flip-Flop" passed away on
Thursday, October 20, 2005
at his residence. He was born on
December 21, 1930
, the son of James and Bessie Hyman. Richard was a graduate of
Carver
High School
where he played football. He also attended
Langston
Hughes
University
in
Oklahoma City
,
Oklahoma
. He later served in the United States Marine Corps as a Corporal (E-3).
At a very young age, Richard gave his life to Christ and became a
faithful and life long member of Middlefork Christian Church where he
served on the Deacon Board, the Men's Choir, the Inspirational Choir and
the Senior Choir. He was an active member of Olympic Lodge #795,
Consistory #64 and Honorary Past Potentate of Sethos Temple #170.
Richard was employed and later retired from R. J.
Reynolds Tobacco after more than 30 years of service.

He
was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Cleo C. Hyman and
James H. Hyman.
Richard
leaves to cherish behind a loving wife and best-friend of 26 years,
Dorothy Killian Hyman. He is survived by 12 children, April (Harvey)
Hughes, George Killian, Kelvin (Morticia) Killian, Sonya (Fredrick)
Walters, Richard (Barbara) Shaw, Bonnie
Samuels,
Wendy Samuels, Stephen Samuels, Marilyn Samuels and Karen Samuels all of
Winston-Salem, NC, Tony (Bell) Smart of Atlanta, Ga. and Suzzie Spencer
of North Wilkesboro, NC; a very special niece, TaShara Killian; 21
grandchildren; one brother, William (Jeanette) Hyman; two sisters, Helen
(Jimmie) Slade and Bertha Higgins all of Pfafftown, NC; a loving
mother-in-law, Helen Killian of Pfafftown, NC; a host of nieces,
nephews, cousins, other family and friends.

going services will be held at

Wednesday, October 26, 2005
at Middlefork Christian Church with the Reverend Timothy Hymes,
officiating. Interment will follow in
Salisbury
National
Cemetery

Salisbury
,
NC
. The family visitation will be from
11 a.m.
until
Noon
Wednesday at the Church.

at the church.
