loving son, Michael Hugh Dervin was born April 6, 1959 in

to Silas C. and Myrtle H. Dervin, Sr. Michael passed peacefully away
Monday, October 10, 2005 after a lengthy illness. He was a graduate of
Parkland
High School
. He was a prior employee of the Maintenance Department of WSSU for a
period of fourteen years.
Michael
was preceded in death by his father, Silas C. Dervin, Sr.
Leaving
to cherish loving memories are his mother, Myrtle Dervin of the home;
one brother, the Rev. Silas (Gwendolyn) Dervin, Jr. of
Winston-Salem
,
NC
; two sisters, Diane Oakes and Sandra Dervin of
Winston-Salem
,
NC
; a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday,
October 15, 2005 at
Mt.
Olive
Baptist
Church
,
1301 C.E. Gray Drive
, with Dr. Charles E. Gray officiating. Interment will follow in
Piedmont
Memorial
Gardens
. Family visitation will be held from 12:30 p.m. until 1 p.m. Saturday
at the church.
