departed this life on Wednesday, October 5, 2005 after an extended
period of illness. She was born November 8, 1954 the daughter of Georgia
S. and James Davis. She was a lifelong resident of
Winston-Salem
,
NC
. Linda was graduate of
North
Forsyth
Senior High School
and
Forsyth
Technical
Community College
were she studied nursing. She was employed at Thomasville Furniture
Industry and
Wake
Forest
University
. She was a member of
Mars
Hill
Baptist
Church
.
She
is survived by her two loving sons, Rico L. Stancil, of the U.S. Army
Iraq and Thomas E. Benson, III of the home; two granddaughters; one
sister, Tanya D. (Howard) Patterson; five brothers, Michael E. Stancil,
James E. Davis (Doris V. Patterson) of Winston-Salem, NC, Emanuel
(Wanda) Davis of Raleigh, NC, Timothy W. Davis, and Ricky R. (Rhonda)
Davis of the U.S. Army, Iraq, (Alexandra, Virginia).; one devoted aunt,
Cassie Thompson of Winston-Salem, NC; and a host of nieces and nephews,
and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday,
October 8, 2005 at
Mars
Hill
Baptist
Church
with the Rev. Larry Smith, officiating. Interment will follow in
Evergreen
Cemetery
. Family visitation will be held from 12:30 p.m. until 1 p.m. Saturday
at the church.
