Mr. Jasper Thomas Barr

Mr. Jasper Thomas Barr, 38, of 4223 Oak Ridge Drive passed away on Wednesday, November 23, 2005 at the Wake Forest University/Baptist Medical Center. He was born on April 28, 1967 in Winston-Salem, NC, the son of Joseph Barr, Sr. and Barbara Coleman Barr. He was a graduate of East Forsyth High School, Class of 1985 and graduated in 1989 from Rutledge Business College with a degree in Commercial Art. He was a member of New Direction Movement Cathedral Church, where he was a former choir member. He had been a resident of Raleigh, NC for over 10 years and returned to Winston-Salem, NC in July, 2005.
Jasper was employed at The Kroger Company at the age of 16 where he excelled from bag boy to manager with 22 years of service. His last employment was with Kroger of Cary, NC. His artwork was displayed in several Kroger stores located in Winston-Salem, NC, Kernersville and Greensboro.
Jasper is survived by his parents, Joseph Barr, Sr. and Barbara Coleman Barr; three brothers, Joseph Barr, Jr., Stanley (Kelly) Barr and Anthony (Kim) Barr; tow sisters, Princella (Walt) Braxton and Penny (Charles) Simons; grandparents, Annie Coleman Carthron and Sally Barr; nephews, Joseph Barr, III, Walt Braxton, Jr., Wesley Braxton, Will Simons and Corey Simons; nieces, Shana Barr, Chasidy Barr, Kourtney Jones, Kamryn Barr, Kyndall Barr, Trinity Barr and Khaliya Barr; other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 29, 2005 at 1:00 PM from the New Direction Movement Cathedral Church with Pastor Essie C. McCullough officiating. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be from 12:00 NOON until 1:00 PM on Tuesday at the Church.
