Mr.  James Thomas Allison, III

Mr. James Thomas Allison III, 51, passed away Friday, Dec. 2, 2005, at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born Nov. 21, 1954, to James and Queen Ester Allison. He was a faithful member of Emmanuel Baptist Church, where he was a member of the John Mendez Mass Choir, Senior Choir, New Faith Ensemble, Sunday school, and EBL Missionary Group. He retired from the U.S. Army National Guard after 22 years of service. He was employed at America Charters where he was shop foreman and service mechanic. He also was owner and operator of Allison's Lawn Maintenance Business. His favorite things to do were singing with New Faith Ensemble, bowling and playing softball. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Vanessa G. Lewis and Patricia A. Allison. He leaves to cherish his fond memories his wife of 13 years, Carolyn Allison; daughters Tina Dillard (Iran), Katrina Orr, Sharon Scriven (Michael) and Brenda Murden; sons James T. Allison IV, Calvin Lewis and Carlos Lewis (Michelle); sisters Sharon L. Lewis, Annette Y. Allison and Jeane L. Allison; grandchildren Goryal Scales, Delacy Murden, Antwain Scriven, Cierra Orr, Iran Dillard and Tiran Dillard; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 7, at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Winston-Salem, with the Rev. John Mendez officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Family visitation will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday at the church.
